2017 ROUND-UP
2017 kicks off with a bang for us, which set the tone for the rest of the year, proving 2017 to be a very exciting 12 months for KMS.
January
We increased our warehouse capacity with the introduction of our Warehouse Supervisor, Antony Bailey.
February
An informative visit to ISE, Amsterdam to meet with existing and new suppliers, while researching the lastest AV technologies for our clients.
March
Some of the team headed off to Orderwise HQ for a week-long intensive training course on our new software system prior to its integration with all departments of the business.
April
We received an outstanding testimonial from Grenade for the continued work we do with them and supporting Grenade with their move into digital point of sales displays using our transparent coolers. You can read more about the work we do with Grenade here.
We have proudly been supporting Argos Sainsbury’s with their move from stand-alone stores to digital store-in-stores. Working with them to close over 40 Argos stores following their decisive step into a more digital future. In addition to this, we have upgraded their existing Call Forward System in over 25 stores.
May
We took part in the Baker Mallett charity football tournament to raise money and awareness for charities; Child Bereavement and Brainwave and the fantastic work they do with families. Unfortunately, it wasn’t our year to win the trophy, but being able to raise awareness and money for these charities made the day worthwhile. Better luck this year lads!
We re-applied for a re-certification of our ISO 9001 accreditation, of which we passed with flying colours.
July
We expanded our service offering, partnering with Heroes 4 Hire. As our MD, Emlyn is an ex-paratrooper himself, he is always keen to support the services and veterans and when local company Heroes 4 Hire was established in 2017, forming a partnership with them was something he felt strongly about. Working with Heroes 4 Hire has provided KMS with access to many different tradespeople and supported us with our expansive growth.
Sainsbury’s announced the opening of their 100th Argos Store-in-Store, and we’re proud to be a part of the team installing every one of these stores, bringing them in line with their move to a more digital regeneration of their stores.
September
We excitedly launched our new branding, website and changed our company name to KMS (Europe) Ltd. The site boasts new Services imagery and a more transparent description of who we are and what we do. The re-brand and website were received with great success.
The re-brand was launched in conjunction with Kiosk Summit, London where we were excited to exhibit our latest indoor and outdoor kiosk solutions. Managing Director, Emlyn Cole-Jones had this to say on the show “Attending Kiosk Summit 2017 was the perfect decision for us this year and fell in line with the launch of our re-brand and our dedicated move into the kiosk division. We were able to demonstrate our scope and abilities within this sector from a manufacturing and software perspective.
Our unique service offering is like no one else in the market today, providing our clients with a full end-to-end solution where every aspect of a project falls under one roof. Meaning we control each and every part of the project and are not dictated to by external manufacturers or developers. Something that we found delegates at the Kiosk Summit were looking for.”
October
Partnering with an intelligent furniture company which allows us to integrate Aircharge wireless charging into a number of their products. Given the announcement from Apple and their latest iPhone 8 and X range and their compatibility to QI wireless charging we felt that this was the perfect partnership for us.
Being at the forefront of the latest technology innovations is key to what we do, so we sent our MD, Emlyn over to the GITEX Technology Week, Dubai, to ensure we are always offering our clients the very best digital solutions.
Honoured to be nominated for the Cheshire Business Awards, Innovation and Enterprise Award. Although we did not win the award, the team had a great night celebrating.
November
We have been working tirelessly to get our engineers and administration departments trained on our latest software, Jobwatch, allowing the teams to allocate and track jobs as they come in and are completed.
As the dark nights set it in, it was time we launched another new product; Ceiling Lightboxes, to bring the outdoors in. Designed to fit standard ceiling tiles they can easily be fitted into any office space, but we can also create these to fit bespoke spaces. We’ve had great feedback on these.
We were pleased to have Welcome Break on-board as one of our latest clients, installing digital menu boards in their Burger King concessions, a project that will see us install more at other locations in 2018. Watch this space for more work with Welcome Break in 2018!
December
As Christmas approached fast, we installed our 49” transparent coolers into Hilton, Liverpool One, Conference Bar with bespoke designed and manufactured locks for added security.
We supported Ladbrokes with in-store screen upgrades at a number of their stores.
A Christmas Innovation Area within Argos Head Office was also installed.
We aim to support local charities as much as we can and throughout December we collected toys for local underprivileged children and held a collection for Save The Children's Christmas Jumper Day, with the team taking part in their very own ‘Bake Off’.
Our Operations Manager, Michael Bailey became ISOH qualified to ensure the safety of the team is always managed correctly.
After a busy year, it was time for us to all let our hair down at the Christmas party. A great night was had by all and closed the year with a bang.
KMS (Europe) Ltd ended 2017 with having expanded our staff across all departments in the business including our specialist Kiosk Designer - Andrew Emuss and Strategic Business Manager - Brian Grogan.
